The Ghost Who Never Puts the Book Down
Some readers stay up far too late. This one never sleeps at all. The Nook Spirit™ Ghost Bookshelf Lantern hangs from a delicate chain beneath an ornate scrollwork bracket, an open book held in both little arms, glowing with a soft amber light that spills gently across the spines beside it.
Behind the glow sits a flat metal panel just 2 mm thick — about the thickness of a postcard. It slips into the gap at the end of a row of books with no drilling, no mounting and no cords, so you gain a warm little light and give up almost no shelf space at all. Runs on two LR41 button cells, sold separately.

Old-Library Detail, Storybook Character
The bracket is cut from metal in a blackened iron look, curling with fine scrollwork; a slender chain drops down, and the ghost floats beneath it like a lantern hung outside a bookshop on a foggy evening. Look closely and you will find the tiny open book, the two dot eyes, and the softly ruffled hem that catches the light. Switched on, it glows from within — a warm halo rather than a harsh beam.
Made for Dark Academia, Cottagecore & Cozy Halloween
Unlike seasonal décor that gets boxed up in November, this little ghost is designed to earn its place all year. It looks at home among fantasy paperbacks and leather-bound classics, on a gothic shelf, in a cottagecore reading nook, or beside a mug of tea during a winter reading marathon — and when October arrives, it is instantly the most charming thing on the shelf.
More Than a Cute Ghost
Goes Where Outlets Don’t
Button-cell power and a simple toggle switch mean the glow lives wherever it looks best — a high shelf, a glass-front cabinet, a bedside stack — with no wires trailing across your books and no socket to plan around.
Thinner Than a Paperback Cover
At 2 mm, the metal panel slides into the narrow gap between two spines — or under the edge of a stack, where the books’ own weight holds it steady. From the front you see the ghost, not the hardware.
The Gift Readers Remember
Birthdays, housewarmings, Halloween, Christmas stockings — a small, unexpected present for bookworms, students, librarians and anyone building their dream home library.
Where the Little Ghost Likes to Read
Tuck it into a bookshelf or book nook, set it on a study desk, brighten a dorm shelf, or switch it on beside the bed for a soft glow while you finish one more chapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which batteries do I need, and are they included?
It takes 2 × LR41 button cells, which are not included, so please have a pair ready before you unbox it. LR41 is a very common size also sold as AG3, 192 or LR736, available in most supermarkets and pharmacies for very little — we suggest picking up a multi-pack so you always have spares.
How long does the glow last on one set of cells?
LR41 cells are tiny, so treat this as a lantern you switch on for an evening rather than one you leave burning for days. Flick the toggle on while you are reading in the room and off when you leave, and one pair goes a long way. Keeping spares on hand is part of the ritual.
Does it need to be plugged in or mounted?
Neither. There is no cord and no drilling — the panel simply slides in beside your books. That makes it one of the few shelf lights that works inside a closed cabinet or on a bookcase nowhere near a socket.
Is it bright enough to read by?
No — it is decorative accent lighting, not a task lamp. Expect a soft, warm halo that sets a cozy mood on the shelf, and keep your reading lamp for actual reading.
Will it fit my bookshelf?
It stands about 25.5 cm (10 in) tall, so measure the clear height inside your shelf and allow around 26 cm. Width is no issue: the panel is only 2 mm thick, so it disappears into the gap between two books. Adjustable shelving and open surfaces are easy; very short fixed-height cubes may be too tight.
Can it hold up a full row of heavy books?
The 2 mm panel is a slim decorative bookend, not a weighted one. It tidies the end of a row and keeps a few paperbacks leaning neatly — for a long row of heavy hardcovers, pair it with a proper heavy-duty bookend.
Is it only for Halloween?
It is designed as year-round décor. The ghost is friendly rather than frightening and the antique-library metalwork suits a dark academia or cottagecore shelf in any season — October is simply when it shines brightest.
